ROBOCUT is a latest Generation, High Speed EDM wire cut machine from FANUC, Japan, which can serve your purpose of very precise machining.
Fanuc offers the submerged EDM wire cut machine in three different Sizes and models as follows,
ROBOCUT Alpha-0 iE (Machining stroke 370 mm X 270 mm X 255 mm).
Alpha-0iE is with Automatic wire feed mechanism (AWF).
ROBOCUT Alpha-1iE (Machining stroke 600 mm X 400 mm X 310 mm).
Alpha-1iE is with Automatic wire feed mechanism (AWF), (Optionally 410 mm, Z axis stroke can be provided)
These high speed and high precision, submerged, 5 axis EDM Wire cut machines have following features,
Artificial Intelligence Pulse Control (PATENTED)
This feature precisely counts the effective discharge pulses per unit time. The intelligence of the machine counts the pulses, which are actually contributing in the cutting, and the pulses, which are not contributing in the cutting. Accordingly to maximize the efficiency, the feed is controlled in Nanometer.
Nano Interpolation
This feature controls all the axis movements in Nanometer (1000th part of 1 micron).
Practical Significance of above two features
Worlds highest cutting speed of 330 mm sqr /Min. with an economical brass wire of dia. 0.3 mm. With a coated wire the cutting speed of 360 mm sqr/Min. is achieved.
High precision cutting, delivers very precise dimensional accuracies. For ex. Roundness of 1.2 Microns for a 30 mm Dia 50 mm thickness hole cutting.
Surface finish of Ra 0.07 microns can be achieved with all the 'D' series models.
The wire breakage is reduced. It is because the cutting energy is kept uniform during the cutting.
The consumption of electrical power is reduced.
Cost of the consumables such as wire etc. is reduced because of their most efficient utilization.
Thus, this compact size machine can, not only do the cutting with almost twice the cutting speed as compared to other machines but also is highly accurate and more economical.
